Mesquite tree w/ yellow leaves

to anybody that can help-
ive got a couple mesquite trees in my yard that have yellow leaves despite nice temps and lots of recent rain. leaves are falling off all over. im worried. there is a plant i dont know growing around some of the branches but it doesnt appear thick or to be cutting off any of the tree
