American Bittersweet Shrub?

My Aunt purchased a shrub years ago from a local nursery--they said that it was an 'american bittersweet'. It is not a vine, it is a shrub. It is large and bushy and no matter how much the deer eat it continues to grow larger, (8'+.) It keeps it's green leaves all year long here and gets a berry just like the bittersweet vine in the fall. Does anyone know what it is? We cannot find it and the local nursery does not recall. Thanks in advance!!
