Citrus Trees
Posted by Nancy from North West Flor on 2010-04-23 07:56:00

I have 3 small orange trees which I removed from pots andplanted in the ground in November of last year. The cold really got to them and they lost all of their leaves. I cut them back slightly and fed them in the beginning of March. Now the only evidence of life is coming from the trunk about 3 inches above the soil line. That is where they are sprouting leaves.
My question is should I cut their trunks back to where the new growth is or should I leave the empty trunks in the hopes that new growth will appear on them as well?
