Did I kill my amaryllis?

I'm a novice potted-plant gardener. I got my amaryllis Amy two years ago and finally got her to rebloom for the first time last spring. This past fall/winter I thought I would try forcing her to bloom, but I think I did it wrong. I took her inside (still in her pot) and put her in a cool corner. However, I didn't water her and I also trimmed back all her dying leaves, right to the top of the bulb. I brought her inside about 10 weeks later, repotted her and started watering her. When I repotted her, she had some stringy dead brown roots which i removed, but several were greenish white and thick. it's been 2-3 weeks since i brought her inside but no change. Did I kill her? Thanks for any help you can provide.
