Mature Rose Bushes "Resurrection"

We live in Albuquerque, NM and have several mature rose bushes that we neglected (newborn child took priority) to prune or feed in the Spring or water with any frequency. A few appear to be entirely dead but the majority show signs of life (red/brown/and green canes, green leaves with varying levels of brown or red fringe). Two weeks ago we pruned away the dead & mostly dead wood and it looks to have helped some. We have been watering three times a week the past two weeks as well. What options for helping them get through the rest of the season are open to us? Thanks, Dan
