Trumpet Vine - is it dead or dormant?

I planted a trumpet vine last Fall and there was amply good weather for it to get established. It looks dead now - can anyone tell me if it's just dormant? The trees here have not budded yet, so it just may be too early for it. Thanks for any info you can provide!
