I think orchids are great they are the pefect house plant. I own debrobium nemorale(native to the phillipines)and one paph magic zone(hybrid). They are doing great. I live in Motana and it is the middle of winter. Orchids are easy! I hope this inspires you to grow your own orchids.If you are also an orchid fan please tell me what kind you like.
