Tomatoes, Manure & Sunspots
Animal manures, according to all the Ag Schools web sites I've looked at lately and according to an article iin the current issue of Organic Gardening magazine, should be aged 12 months before being spread on a vegetable garden, or composted. Since simply piling up manures and lettin that age results in a major loss of nutrients to the atmosphere (that is that odor from manure) or into the ground water where it becomes a pollutant, it is better to compost all manure.
