loropetalum chinese burgundy bushes

Im a novice gardener and have started a project... I planted the above mentioned bushes and want them to do well. there is only a few hrs of afternoon sun and the soil is clay :( I mixed composte ,planting soil and triple shredded mulch .. how am I doing?
How do I care for these bushes year round?

Need Help ....
