Celosia Cockscomb Questions

I know that celosia/cockscomb does well in warm, humid environments. Living in the New Orleans area, I know this environment should be ok. However, I am wondering what colors it can come in and if it is toxic to dogs.

We are buying our first home and I want to do the entire landscaping in "pet friendly" plants/trees. I've found several lists online of both toxic and safe plants but nothing talks about this plant. Thank you so much!
