Could neighbors fire have killed my cukes?

My neighbors have a huge fire pit about 30 feet away from my garden. Last night they lit a huge fire (10 feet tall) This morning I went to the garden and my cucumbers are completly wilted. They don't look dead, but I'm worried they won't come back. Do you think the fire killed them?
