I have salvias that are perennials. After many torrential rain storms, I lost the purple flowers. Do I cut down the old stalk to the leaves to get new blooms or do I leave them alone. Shouldn't they bloom all summer?

    I cut my spent stalks down to the first set of leaves. It seems to rebloom well.
