Insects
Posted by Julie from Arizona on 2008-05-08 07:00:00

I live in the Wittmann area of Arizona and a couple of weeks ago we had a strange insect come thru in droves. When we first saw the bug it was chomping on my Pennstimon parryi flowers and moved on to my snap dragon flowers....other than those two plants in the garden the only other thing that it touched were the weeds.

I have never seen anything like it. It was about an inch long, black body with a red head and after about a week developed yellowish spotted wings. Any clue as to what it was....they are gone now and glad they liked the weeds the best!
