Dafodils everywhere

I just moved into an old house in
Southern MD, and the yard is filled
with dafodils. they grow at random all
over the place, hundreds of them! A
good many got run over by the mower. Is
it possible to dig them up now and
store the bulbs till fall when I can
plant them where I want them? And if I
do this, how do I prepare them for
storage?
