I have a 10-year-old Spathiphyllum that has grown to be about 5 feet in diameter. It's been living in an extra bedroom which has now become a nursery so the plants gotta go! I was thinking of dividing it but read here it's not recommended. Why? And do you have any suggestions? It's blooming currently and has been living in an indirect medium lit room. Would putting it next to a window in direct light be too much? Thanks!

I've had mine in a window with no ill effects. I would just suggest that if you do put it in a window to keep a close eye on it. I divide mine all the time with no ill effects.
