save my geranium

I have an ivy geranium that recently started blooming again (it had been starved by my roommates last year when I went out of town). Perhaps overzealously, I transplanted it to a larger container and within a couple of days, it began to lose petals, wilt and go brown. I quickly transplanted it back, but I am worried it might die. I fertilized it yesterday with Miracle Gro. Any advice out there?
