Mass Cane w/dying trunk.

I've had a Mass Cane for about 1 year. After fighting with a little overwatering (led to brown/dead tips of leaves), then underwatering (yellowing of entire leaf), I repotted it into a terracotta pot. Since then, two of the three trunks (each with two stalks producing leaves) have recovered nicely. However, the tallest trunk (with about 6 stalks) has lost everything.

Is there anything I can do to induce or encourage growth? Each trunk was cut and the stalks grew out right beneath it, nothing below. So does a fresh trim stimulate it?

I don't want to remove it.
