Cactus
Posted by angel wings from Georgia on 2005-10-02 02:35:00

I have what I think is peanut cactusus. I must have watered it too much because the bases rotted. I cut the rotten part off and have the stalks resting. I think I read somewhere to let them heal. Anyway, what do I do with the stalks? Will they grow if I put them in the dirt?
Thanks

hi there, yes let the parts you have cut off scab over and then get some cactus soil or 1/2 houseplant soil and 1/2 washed sand. then just stick in the dirt and water slightly and for the winter you should only water your cactus once or twice until it warms up again. hope this helps you and good luck!(they also like a bright spot for the winter and a cooler room)
