several seed starting trays filled with a
variety of perennials. I am now learnig
that before I can transplant these
seedlings to my garden, they need to be
"hardened off," that is, gradually put
outside for increasing amounts of time
each day. Well, I work Monday thru
Friday from 8:30 am to sometimes 8:00 pm.
My question is how am I going to harden
off my seedlings short of taking a week
vacation? Will an hour or so in the
morning or at night be sufficient?

again. When it comes time to hardening
my seedlings I usually start early in
the week by putting them out for just a
couple of hours (like you mentioned
morning or evening--it would be best to
do when there is some sunlight out) and
then when the weekend comes--I have
time to put the seedlings out for a
longer period of time and by the time
Sunday comes along--they're ready to
stay outside!------------
