measuring soil pH in the lab

measuring soil pH in the lab
Posted by Barb from NC/7 on 2001-03-22 16:26:53

Can someone please tell me how to
accurately measure soil pH making use
of a laboratory pH meter? I assume one
would "dissolve" some soil in water and
measure the resulting pH, but exactly
how much?

    Barb,
I dug out the instructions from my old pH meters, and the directions for each were different. Do you have a manufacturer's name? Perhaps they'd have a website with instructions.
