Soaker Hoses
I used a soaker hose on my butterfly garden bed, 30' hose for a 3'x15' bed. Hose was placed on top of soil, under approx. 2-3" of mulch. Worked wonderfully for 3 years - but eventually the hose degraded enough so that soil got into the hose and blocked the water flow.
Worked well enough, though, that I replaced it with a new one. This one is off the soil and embedded in the mulch.
I've found that mulch will make all the difference with these slow water dispersal systems.
Tom - this is your friend Lisa from Gardens (married now - new last name!). Hope this finds you well. I see you're still growing! *grin* I had hoped to email you, but couldn't find your email address. Mine's here in the post. If you read this, shoot me an email, will ya?
