    This species is native to two small areas of western North Carolina and very close to the border thereof. I've only seen it at Jenkins Arboretum in southeast PA in the open, but climax woods there. The shrubs planted at Jenkins came from a stock labeled as "Biltmore 2112.' A most lovely, high quality shrub like the many similar species of Deciduous Azaleas.
